Yes folks - all you people who've taken the cable car up to the top - you are WIMPS! We climbed up from the Botanical Gardens, via a route encouragingly known as Skeleton Gorge. Got lost at the top, as there are no helpful signs pointing to the way down (OK we took the cable car down again). But when we did find the top, it really was worth it. A beautiful clear day, just a few clouds boiling across for a few minutes, and a real sense of achievement!
The rest of our four days in Cape Town was mostly spent in restaurants, just in case you were beginning to think we'd lost our usual set of priorities. |
|  | The dassies! And once you get to the top of the mountain, if you come up by cable car, you'll be surrounded by:
--- lots of other tourists
--- especially Italians chatting furiously on their mobiles
--- some crazy people abseiling down the side
--- and dassies: overgrown hamsters with a taste for icecream, only this one preferred the ice cream stick. Not the brightest of creatures! |
