The rooms are adequate, nothing special. Never made it to the pool. I spent a lot of time in the business center doing email (surprise!) and the staff there is well trained and speaks good English. The girls in the shops are so helpful and the gift shop has really different things I didn't see elsewhere. With five or more restaurants on site, there is no reason to even have to leave the hotel for food, if you are exhausted as were we. If you go in December or early January, the lobby is decorated for Christmas, complete with tree and life sized gingerbread house.
Unique Qualities: Although the rooms were ho-hum, the restaurants were superb! Our first meal in China was at the Chinese restaurant, Chopsticks. The food was exceptional, and the tea service was fun. The breakfast at the Swiss Chalet was excellent, and the dinner we had there was the only place in China where the western choices tasted the same as they would at home. We regeretted not being there longer to experience the other hotels, since Japanese food is my favorite and I have never had a Mongolian Hot Pot.

I haven't stayed here, but the description I got was a rundown, musty smelling hotel that is way overpriced. A frequent stop on adoption travel, my friends who were unfortunate enough to be put up here all said to avoid it all costs.

The rooms were very nice, although like all the places we stayed in China, there was NO clock in the room! We stayed two nights at the first of our stay, and one night on our way home. DO NOT stay in one of the rooms near the lobby/nightclub. The music from the bar was so loud, and we were only a few feet away with the courtyard. If you rent a Panda Phone, it will be waiting for you in the business center. It says the business center is open 24 hours, but when I saw the lights off, I thought that meant they were closed. But if you go in, sleeping attendants get off the couch to help you onto the interntet. The breakfast in the main cafe is nice, but the one in the bar area is very bare bones. Overall, it was a very nice hotel, and I would stay there again.
Unique Qualities: The beds were the softest of any I slept on in China! If you go all the way down the hall on the first floor, there is a children's playroom. It was great to take our newly adopted kids in there and have them let of some steam. There is so much within walking distance of this hotel - Friendship Store, McDonald's, Starbucks, etc... that it is very convenient to stay here.
