I haven't updated my pages for a long time.. well now there is some addition. After 6 months in New Zealand I had a chance to go to Fiji for a few days... so there are a few pics and tips

Raquel and friends

My good friend Raquel is currently having a battle against bone cancer that was accidentaly discovered when she broke her leg while we were on an university trip abroad. She has since been in the hospital and has had several rounds of chemo that are really heavy and her mood goes from one end to the other. She will receive chemo till next year May...

I am asking you to send Raquel a postcard from where ever you live, the more the better and hope that this will lift her mood a bit. If you're willing to do that then I will ge very, very grateful and you have cheered up someone who needs it the most.

I went to visit Raquel on the 29th of August and she had already received a lot of your cards!! Thank you guys for sending them, she was very surprised and moved by all the well-wishers.

The accident where she broke her leg happened in Belgium, Brussels and the doctors diagnosed her with cancer.. it was a hard blow.. She lives in the Netherlands, but because of her condition the docs decided to keep her in Belgium. It wasn't possible to move her with a broken leg and they couldn't fix the leg before she had a few rounds of chemo. On the 31st of August she is going home for the first time in three months.. well only for three days, but I'm sure that she will get some positive energy from that. On Monday she will start with another chemo round...

Update 08.11.07
Raquel is able to spend most of the time at home and is trying to walk with the crutches to get her leg going and building up some muscle. Unfortunately she had an accident last week where she fell and hurted now both of her legs so that she is back in bed and can't be mobile for a while. That is a big blow to her self esteem and has brouht her mood down again...

We all wish that she will recover quickly and will be back on the crutches to beat the leg and make it work....

It's July and you can drink mulled wine!!!!

How weird is that??? Everything here is upside down and Marie said also that she gets drunk a lot faster than in Holland. Must be that our feet are up and head down... at least we haven't fallen off the earth yet.... I said yet!
