"Navajo Nt" Kayenta by NYMansour

Kayenta Travel Guide: 14 reviews and 40 photos

This is a nice monument to visit. Not unlike Canyon de Chelley, it was home to cliff-dwellers. The word Anasazi I learned is actually derogative. It means something like "the others" or "the outsiders"....something to that effect. The more correct term for the people who lived in Canyon de Chelley, Mesa Verde as well as Navajo Nt'l Monument is "the People." Or "People of the Mesas".... this is what I remember a tour guide telling me in Mesa Verde. Bring Binoculars to the Navajo Nt'l Monument.
