I didn't spend too much time in Flagstaff. I did see and experience some nice things in the area though. One place worth seeing in Walnut Canyon. It's a small canyon (compared to other canyons in the S.W.). It has a pretty important history, as the white settlers destroyed parts of it --- just to make room to picnic in!!!! I was the first person at the canyon early in the morning....it was very peaceful, but I was a little nervous about being the only one there. Otherwise it was a nice little tour. Coming to Flagstaff from the Grand Canyon was a beautiful drive. I did get altitude sickness when I reached the highest point before Flagstaff and driving to low altitude. Maybe it was from all the granola I was eating!!! I didn't stay in Flagstaff too long, because I wanted to see National Monuments as well as the Hopi Reservation 3 Mesas. This picture is where I stopped before reaching Flagstaff.... |
