I know many people think of the disgusting undrinkable stuff called beer whenever they hear 'Budweiser', but I'm here to set the record straight for anyone who is still of that opinion. The real and original Budweiser is czech, not american! Although sadly and shamefully enough (as an American myself that is ;) ) the US version won't get within 10 miles of my lips. It's almost laughable that it can be called that when the real and true Czech version is thousands of times better and so much easier on the palate. It has all the delicious flavor that only real Czech hops can offer, and if you for some reason can't find it in a store near you, then just take a trip to Ceske Budejovice and find out for yourself just how tasty it really is! ;) |
| | More than just beer (believe it or not ;) ) I spent 2 days and 2 nights in Ceske Budejovice and while we didn't have anywhere to stay before we arrived, it was no problem finding private accomodation once we got there. We went to the information center in the town square and they were able to find us a private room that was quite centrally located with a lovely Czech lady and her husband. I had no expectations before going since I had never been there but CB was beautiful just like everywhere else I had been in Czech. The town center is very charming and although we didni't venture much outside of it, I'd definitely like to go back and do so. |
| | More than just a daytrip I definitely recommend going there for a day or 2 and spending the night. :) But don't try to do it as just a daytrip from Prague if you can help it because it really does deserve more time than that! It's about 3 hours (give or take 30 minutes) from Prague on the train and trains go regularly throughout the day. Once you're in Ceske Budjovice you're just a 30 minute train ride from Cesky Krumlov, so you can visit both of these wonderful locations at one stay! But do give each their own day and night. :) |
