Trying for an intro

by iandsmith - last update: Jul 16, 2007

A thinking man's guide to Munich

Where it all ends nobody knows
For some odd reason I had as much difficulty trying to download an intro into this page as I did finding my accommodation when I arrived.
It seemed, in both cases, I kept going up dead ends before something finally happened and then it was an anti climax, since in this case I'd entered my intro into the to-do pages.
In fact, they could both be likened to a chess game; shifting this way and that but finally getting a result.
I am probably the only Australian ever to visit Munich and not see the inside or outside of a beer haus.
Still, I (a) don't drink beer and (b) went to see other things so I was far from disappointed.
One of the things I did find was Sauters. If this place isn't the world's best photographic store then I'd sure love to see what it. It's heaven for the snappers among you.
The shot I took below was en route to the Deutches Museum coming at it from across the other side of the river.

I lived in Germany for two years during my tenure as a soldier. I visited Munich on several occasions but didn’t manage to see an actual thing. You see…unlike you…I spent my entire time drowning both my sorrows and joys in a beer hause.

I also have a problem with drinking beer as the smallest amount gives me a thumping headache for a couple days. I think I must be allergic to one of the ingredients.

Sorry, I'm early again, but you know me. Fine photos and excellent texts, as always! And most was new to me, because in all my Munich visits (mostly on business, I must admit) I've never been to Schloss Nymphenburg. You've convinced me to go next time.
