Did I say different - try VERY different

Yes, it's gold
In just a week here I saw much and missed more. Fortunately I had a second trip and spent my second week here. I saw much more and still missed much.
Then again, the third time I saw stuff I'd never even heard of!
It really does have such a variety of things to satisfy most interests - wholly recommended.
This picture is from the British Museum. It is of the Queen's lyre from the ancient city of Ur. Amazing, thousands of years old and here it is preserved for posterity and it's free for all.
If you've never been to a museum it would be an unforgettable start and if you've seen heaps (as I have) you will still be gazing in wonderment at some of the exhibits.
London has overkill on a few fronts; museums, art, night life and parks - I loved them all.
Its name comes from the Latin Londinium and the river on which it is based is a corruption of teme which is Latin for waterway. Just thought I'd share that with you.
A PLAGUE UPON YOU
If you ever wondered how London had such a bad time with the plague, may I quote you from my Emails, "Did I tell you about the mice? First I spotted one the first time I went to Sainsburys (supermarket). I pointed it out to the lady in the bread section and you should have seen the mayhem that created.
People running everywhere!
Next I was waiting for my last tube (that's a train for you drinkers and surfers) and one crawled up from the railway, very soon joined by his mate. Helps to pass the time. "
What's happening?

A happening occasion

This shot is from my second trip, a six nights and five day affair where I caught up on things I had missed out on the first trip. Things like Highgate Cemetery, Sir John Soane's House, The Wallace Collection, V&A Museum, Oxford Street, Courtald Gallery, Shaftesbury Avenue, St. Pauls, St. Pancras and a few others.
The experience below was an unexpected happening that you can find the details of in my pages.
London by night, looking better

The bright lights

If it's after hours action you want then London will satisfy. The famous West End, Shaftesbury Avenue et al, it's all there. Never a dull moment.
Especially in the famous London pubs.
Then again, you may wish to just stroll the banks of that famous river, the Thames which, one has to say, looks considerably better by night.

If you have similar interests to mine then, based on what I have seen so far and, in no particular order, I offer you my top ten things to see while in London.
Sir John Soane's House
Wallace Collection
V & A Museum
British Museum
Tower Bridge
Hampton Court
A show in the West End
National gallery
Oxford Street
Westminster Abbey
