The common knowledge is that Skye is the most scenically beautiful part of Scotland. Uplands rising from the plains down south to the dramatic cliffs of western Skye. This was an island that promised much and delivered much. It's one of the few places I've ever visited that bore some resemblance to my idea of what it was going to be like. The Old Man of Storr was immediately recognizable, Portree similarly so and Kilt Rock also. Of course, if there's one other thing Skye has a reputation for it's weather. That was immediately recognizable as well. |
