"Much ado about little" Civita by iandsmith

The vision splendid

The one undeniable thing that Civita di Bagnoregio has going for it is its spectacular location.
After you get slugged for parking, before you even go down the road, by the local police blatantly making a euro or two out of the tourist, you come around a bend and there it is. The view you have seen pictures of is there for all to see.
Speaking personally, if I ever took someone there, that's all they would see because, quite frankly, I thought that was about all it had to offer.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Great setting
  • Cons:Other small villages have much more to offer. E.g. Sorana, Bagnaia etc.
  • In a nutshell:Take the picture, don't bother stopping

Rick Steves of 'Europe through the back door' fame is highly complimentary of the place, would you say TOO complimentary?
