I've put my Maleny info in with the Noosa page. Maleny sits at the southern end of the Blackall range and has a scattered population of just under 5,000. First noted by the explorer Ludwig Leichhardt in 1844, the area was being logged in the 1870's. Its best known tourist attraction is Mary Cairncross Park, a magical rainforest remnant saved from the original woodland with stunning views over the Glasshouse Mountains. Though Montville has usurped it as far as a tourist attraction is concerned there are still plenty of attractions such as the art gallery pictured here. |
