Pulau Pramuka, literally in English means Scout's island. It does not have anything to do with scouts, and I have no idea why they called it that way.
It is one of the islands of Pulau Seribu(North of Jakarta). This particular island is the one the government tourism promote the most for its turtle breeding house. They take the eggs of the turtles, keep it in some buckets filled with sand, and burried the bucket half its height in the sand. When they are one week old, they will put it in bigger container filled with sea salt water for them to get used to swimming and interacting with other baby turtles. |
