Tribe folks on their journey home
In this page, I will include also my 4 days journey downstream on the famous Yangtze River ( along with the Yellow River) ; named the Sorrow of China. Due to her busting her banks, thousands have died and been displaced.

I thought I had better do this trip quickly due to the Chinese govt's decision to construct the mega dam just down the stream. That meant, the thousands of towns and creeks, and gorges and temples that lie behind it will be submerged!
Through the 3 gorges.
Of course, the main highlight or the main reason for doing this trip was to see the famous 3 gorges. Of course, it did not disappoint. However, the journey through them was quick.

From the deck of the ship, There were OOHH and AAHHs from the passengers on board. We were dwarfed by hude gigantic mountains; of course, they have been fanciedly named by the Chinese.
On board the luxury liner, there were nice activities to keep the passengers happy. Karaoke, and spas and massages; you name it.

Throughout the journeys, we had several stopovers to visit temples and towns (and smaller streams).
Of which, I will talk more about in the tips section.

This magnificent temple (Shibaojai)was built attached to the sheer vertical cliff wall. It was about eleven storeys high. From a top, there was great view towards the mirky Yangtze. And sadly, it;s not going to survive the Great Flooding after the dam is completed in 2009.
