"Reality ... Starting ... back in melbourne." joks's Profile

Started working. that means no more frequent VT visits and sadly no travel plans for the rest of the years ahead.

A very satisfying trip back to my homeland Indonesia after an absence of 8 years, it is very difficult and sad to leave. Now that I am back in Melbourne, the journey ends and starts. I will soon be working full time which means very little travelling for the next few years. Being a positive person, I will try to make the most out of my exciting career path. But a part of me have to lie low for a while. . . I will have to deal with it, don't I ?

My trips since 2000.

2000-Thailand, Hongkong
2001- Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, United States
2002 - Malaysia, United States,China (Tibet)
Sept 2002...Tibet was breathtaking ..Didn't have enough time to get out of Lhasa which is such a shame. One day I will be back...

The cruise down Yangtze was amazing ...seeing the 3 gorges and the dam under construction...Sadly, most of it will be under water in the future...

2002-2003 (Germany, Austria, Hungary, Czech Rep,Poland, Russia (TRANS SIBERIAN), China, Malaysia): nov 2002 - feb 2003. I travelled from Munich to Beijing mostly by train although I cheated a little and flew from Warsaw to St Petesburg.

Dec2003 - Jan2004. South India

2004- denmark, sweden, finland, netherlands, italy, france, germany, iceland ,malaysia, singapore. india

and overlanding from turkey to pakistan via iran.

*** 2005 -june july EUROPE (belgium, france, italy) back from a HOT HOT summer...

Dec2005-Jan2006 ITS MOTHER INDIA CALLING' back for the second time!

I dont really like listing favourites but after seeing so many top 10s etc...I have to have one in the page too! :)

Enjoy the pages. If you do need infos on country or cities that I have been to, please feel free to drop me a line...

All that and the best shopping and exciting hunt for beautiful tribal textiles and embroideries ..!

..under construction.....( am in process of scanning my 250+ photos)

IRAN....my persian pilgrimage ....

... just my go at mastering a bit of poetry...

Women draped in black .a call for midday prayer.

Shia devotees. a mullah recite from the quran.

Bustling ancient bazaars. a carpet dealer calls for tea.

Amidst the old laneways of ancient yazd. life stood still.

Exquisite mosques, endowed by glittering turqouise mosaics.

Esfahan, a master piece. Persian glory.

Welcoming faces, an endless flow of chai.

Warm hearts, sad departure

IRAN....my persian pilgrimage ....

coming from turkey....tabriz. qazvin. gazor khan. tehran. semnan. shahrud. bastam. mashhad. gorgan. bandar e torkaman. gonbad. kashan. abyaneh. esfahan. shiraz. persepolis. yadz. zahedan. . .on to pakistan

building up these pages are truly energy sapping...I will try to scan as many pics as I can.

from iran....quetta, lahore, rawalpindi, gilgit, karimabad, ultar, nagar valley, altit village, druikar, passu, sost, chapursan, zood khun, baba ghundi, karachi

My Southern Indian trip was an eye opening one. From soaring gompurams, bustling markets to sleepy fisherman's villages and the backwaters, and the mystical attraction that is hampi, these contrasting images has left a deep impression on me.

on the 26th day, my digital camera was stolen, all was hell. I had lost all my pictures of my friends and cities and temples. I was frustated....but I went on. It dawned on me that the memories will still be in my head after all .. the down side is no pictures for my family and friends. But I bought myself another camera and am slowly uploading the pictures from the scanner....

Ok, now that the hair is off, go get a digital & show us what it's like ;-) Well, I'm using the Sony H1 right now. Excellent optical zoom. Qlty of shots is good too. Wld be perfect if smaller. The other one with such a high zoom would be Olympus.
