    • Here in Wahiawa, just across Wheeler AAF on Kamehameha Hwy, there's a community garden. I think the whole concept of community gardens is fantastic. Driving past the Wahiawa community garden, you can see many banana and papaya trees. ( Flying over you can see it all! )

    • Wahiawa Reservoir (Lake Wilson) now here is a nice fishing place for shore fishing or boating ... but the only boats allowed are for fishing. I've yet to see it in writing (but is the water safe?) the water looks really bad, and there is NO SWIMMING allowed also. At one time recently (approximately Nov 02 - Apr 03 ) this reservoir was completely covered with a fast growing plant (salvinia) that nearly caused the reservoir it's entire fish population. There are picnic facilities here too

     I'm a Wahiawa girl and miss it so much.When you move away, you realize all the little things that you take for granted. Wahiawa is a wonderful place to live. The people there are sweet and really show the aloha spirit. I MISS WAHIAWA, BUT I'LL BE BACK!!!!    		Quero Wed Nov 24, 2004 06:41 UTC
