South Africa is a diverse country blessed with impressive mountain ranges, long sandy beaches, and a range of geography and micro-climates which caused the Tourism agency to coin the slogan, 'South Africa - The World in One Country.

Compared to it's African neighbours, South Africa has a first rate infrastructure, and with its renewed focus on tourism, makes it an easy destination to travel to, and around once there.

Be prepared to:
Drive, rather than take public transport
Eat large amounts of great food
Take advantage of the relatively low value of the South African Rand
See lots of wildlife
Explore adventure travels like cage diving and 'kloofing'

Closest to my heart lie the Garden Route where I grew up, roughly stretching from Mossel Bay in the west to Tsitsikamma in the east, with George serving as its central hub. Second is Stellenbosch, Cape Town and the West Coast, all three close together, and with wine farms, long stretches of coastline, and one of the most beautiful cities in the world (CT) to explore.
