Worldclass Golf Resort and other George, South Africa Hotel/Accommodation Reviews

A truly magnificent place. 10 mins outside of George, 10 mins. to the airport, and 15 minutes to the closest beach (Herold's bay). Fancourt is a 5 star + resort, with Gary Player designed courses, and also the home course of Ernie Els. If you're not staying there (it is rather pricey), try it for Sunday tea.

Unique Qualities: It's got everything, but golf is the main attraction here. Also has a conference center/lodge in nearby Glentana (at the beach).

An excllent small hotel in town with a wonderful feel of wooden beams and a 'rietdak' roof. Great food in their restaurant, but also within walking distance from others in town.

Jantjie is located on a beautiful cliff overlooking the ocean. 20 minutes outside of George, this used to be one of our favourite fishing spots, and a friend has now built some self-catering chalets, a boardwalk etc. to make it more accessible.

If you want to get away from it all, and fit in some excellent fishing, this is the place.

Unique Qualities: Excellent and private chalets with a wonderful view.
