The main camp in the park, you'll probably stay overnight here at some stage of your trip. It misses out on the atmosphere of some of the other, smaller camps, but has a nice lookout point, gamedrives etc. The accomodation has suffered a bit of neglect in the past few years, so try and book high-end here, as they seem to do a better job of maintenance on the higher-priced units.
Unique Qualities: Try to book one of the 2 bedroom guesthouses along the river.

A beautifull place, on the banks of the Sabie river. Chalets (rondawels) are semi-attached in units of two, with some with a great view of the river. A classic Kruger spot.
Unique Qualities: Last time I was there (Aug 2002), some renovations were taking place that should be finished by mid-2003.

Olifants

Olifants is one of the best-located camps in the park. Perched on a hill, overlooking a wide stretch of the Olifants river, most chalets have a great view, and has all the ingredients for an inspired visit around the fire. It's location just north of the center of the park, also places it close to some of the best game viewing areas in the park.
Unique Qualities: When booking, make sure to ask for chalets in the front rows. The guest houses, slightly more expensive, but bigger & more luxurious, are perched over the cliff, and have large decks to relax on.

Alongside Skukuza, one of the older camps in Kruger. Chalets are built in large circles around central open spaces. The camp is currently being refurbished, and the look of the new chalets are great, with some extra attention paid to privacy on the patio, and better bathroom layout etc. inside.
Unique Qualities: Great location in the center of the park, and loads of options for good game drives around.
