Every spring, Tom and I drive (occasionally we fly) to St. Petersburg, Florida to visit his mother. Fortunately for us, Mom Ewing lives in a retirement home across from a beautiful several-blocks-long city park. The weather is usually in the 70's and 80's and sunny in the spring, so we can enjoy being outdoors. My favorite St. Pete passtime is walking over to the park, sitting on the breakwall and watching for dolphins. Each year I manage to see 2 or 3 that swim around by the shore. Last year, we saw a manatee as well. The scenery and wildlife is so completely different from where we live, that it's always a nice break to visit St. Petersburg. |
