Favorite thing: Somalia has not been commercialized. There aren't that many tourists and you have the whole country to yourself(almost).

Fondest memory: Somalia is very hot but worth the trip. The people are very friendly and helpful.

Stacks of Cash

Favorite thing: While visiting, bring as much cold hard American Dollars as possible. As there are no ATM's and hotels and restaurants dont except credit cards. It's is very easy to exchange Dollars for Somali/Somaliland Shillings. BUT you will end up with bags of of cash to carry around. Not a good idea.

Favorite thing: Have an open mind. Dont believe everything you once saw on CNN. If you do this You will thoroughly enjoy your trip.
Also you must visit the old city of Amoud. It has existed for hundreds of years, with a unique people and culture.

Fondest memory: The People. Go out of your way to meet as many local people as possible. They are some of the most generous and pleasant on Earth.
