    • Don't miss the local wine cellars. In the area of Eger, one of the local wines made is Bikover (or bull's blood). There is a story about this wine. A few centuries ago the Turks invaded Hungary and attacked an Hungarian king in his castle in Eger. At some point the king's soldiers did not want to continue fighting. The king then allowed his soldiers into his wine cellar which was filled with Bikover. Apparently the Bikover strengthened the courage of the soldiers and they drove off the Turks. Not for long however, the Turks returned and were victorious in the end.

    • Off course the castle is at the highest point of the town. You can't miss it.
