rome was the 2nd major stop on my backpacking trip after athens. in between were brief stays/stops in corfu and bari. rome is pretty much how you imagine it, a commercialized metropolis with ancient ruins scattered throughout. i spent a good week in rome and saw pretty much everything it had to offer. i made a quick daytrip to naples and pompeii from rome (2 hr). the above picture is of the colloseum at night. |
