The Man who lost his head ;-)
Even if your interest about animals is only collateral, visiting the colorful pet market of Alfalfa Square is a powerful and intense experience that I strongly recommend. The combination of the bustling activity of the market, along with the soft spot I have for animals, made it one of my fondest memories from Sevilla. The market takes place every Saturday morning.
You can check out some snapshots of the market in my travelogue

In the queue for confession
If there's something similar to a spiritual capital in the south of Spain, it might be close to Sevilla. You can tell that by the size of the city cathedral, or for the countless churches that configure Sevilla's urban landscape. But more that just visit the beautiful churches of Sevilla looking at the statues of the virgin, at the ceilings, at the architecture details, I would recommend you to pay close attention at the devotion of the people that use those temples. They live their religion in such a passionate way that it's unlikely they would leave you indifferent.
Artist at Work
While in Sevilla, you definitely should not miss the chance of getting lost (but with a map in your pocket, if possible) in the narrow streets of Santa Cruz district. Apart from tourist souvenirs shops and overpriced bars, the neighborhood houses the workshop of many local craftsmen.
Los pasos de Semana Santa
During the Holly Week, Sevilla transforms itself into a human river of religious processions; during those holly days, dozens of cofradies carry out their images over the city, a spectacle followed with fervent devotion by the attendants.
If attending to those processions is an absolutely fascinating activity, it is not less impressive to realize with how much anticipation the cofradias (the people that take active part in the processions) rehearse and test their strength. These rehearsals had nothing of trivial, as the images weigh several hundred kilos. So during many weeks before the Holly Week, is not unusual at all to witness the cofradias caring out the same weight over the streets of Sevilla by night.
Party!
El Botellon means basically drinking and partying in the street but always among civilized terms, as drinking is Spain constitutes much more a social activity than a pretext to get yourself awfully drunken. If not the mayor Spanish contribution to the humankind (the honor of that position relays on the "siesta") certainly the art of partying in the middle of the street is something in which we Spaniards excel.
For good or worse, this custom has being eradicated from certain areas of Spain, sadly being Madrid, my hometown, among them. Things are quite different in Sevilla and the rest of Andalucia, though, and being part of El Botellón is probably the best way to explore Sevilla’s nightlife.
