Boy were we glad to take one day out of our trip to San Francisco and make the drive down the Coastal Highway 1 to Los Angeles. It's simply the most beautiful highway ever!!! The weather was splendid, and it was a bright and sunny day when we left San Francisco on 8th June for this fantastic drive! We started out later than planned as we waited for an upgrade in our car rental -- and it was a good idea at that, given that it was a long drive we were taking, and that the winds from the Pacific Ocean are particular strong. The ride was for the most, uneventful. It was only late at night, with the setting sun that we realised that we had not reached our destination, and the light was fast dimming on a highway that continued to curve and hug the cliffs with the Pacific Ocean just an inch from our sides... that we started to feel a little panicky... ;p read more about my trip in my travelogue! |
