When I went to London, it was with my family back in 1994. That was a long time ago and as with family trips, you don't get a lot of freedom to see and do as you will.
But I still managed to see a fair share of London, and of course, it was a grand trip nonetheless!
I remember enjoying particularly the beautiful parks and gardens, especially Kew Gardens which was impressive... and what I'd read in a poem about the place seemed to make more sense when I actually saw the lush greeness of the garden!
What really surprised me was the weather which was unpredictable -- it was supposed to be late Spring and early Summer, but it was absolutely chilly! The cold just seeped into my bones!
I would like to visit England again, and explore the place! I'd like to visit the Lake District, and see the landscape that's been described by the great British writers like Thomas Hardy, William Wordsworth and Charles Dickens.
My photos of '94 are somewhere, and I'd have to go dig them out... later...
I was in London this last June 6 - 10.
It was an experience being caught in the heat of summer with temperatures averaging 33 degree Celsius! It was like being in Singapore except that when I stood in the shade, it was nice and cool and definitely not humid...
But I enjoyed my sojourn in London, regardless of how short my stay was. I found the city bustling with activity and life, the people friendly and quite warm...
I'd be posting my photos soon... so keep a look out! :)
Was in London for about a week and the weather was unbelievably hot for Autumn... was actually quite disappointed as I wanted to experience cooler climes...
Had a good dinner at Jamie's Italian -- corner of Pentonville and St John's Street for dinner and it was great! Delicious and pricing was not too bad... :)
We found a great fish place and the food was superb!
