South Padre Island -- Spring Break South Padre Island...number 3 for Spring Break hot spots in the World. Believe me, it deserves and lives up to its expectations. I think Spring Break 2002 was my 7th year to celebrate my week of freedom at South Padre Island. Somehow we manage to have an absolute blast every year. |
|  | The Road Trip Getting there is half the fun….at least w/ my friends. We try to leave around 10AM at the latest, usually in a caravan of 5 cars or more, which makes for a slow trip due to hungry people and small bladders. Last time it took us 71/2 hours to make the 6-hour drive. Once you see the bridge that takes you to the island its all worth it!
Be careful what time you hit the island at. The bridge is the only way to enter onto the island and if you get there at the wrong time you'll be stuck for hours! Just imagine: 250,000+ people all trying to fit on this one island and all arriving at about the same time. Basically, avoid the getting in your car from 4:00 - 7:00! |
Our Crew Here are all of us that went last year. Fifteen in all! It was everyone’s first time apart from myself (second one from the left) and one other girl’s. It was interesting seeing it through the eyes of someone who is experiencing it for the first time. |
