Hi there. I have been to Malaysia twice. The first time I went with a girlfriend in 2000 and then last year I went with my boyfirned because I had loved it so much and wanted to show him! He now feels the same as me and it has been a struggle deciding to go to Thailand in November instead of going back again!!
I had never been to Asia before and I think it was the perfect place to get a taster, becuase even though it is culturally different it is developing at a fast rate and does not have the shocking poverty of India, it is also not as commercially developed as somewhere like Thailand so you can still get a great feel for the Malaysian way of life.
Malaysia & Singapore have opened my eyes and I have to say I am quite addicted. If it wasn't for the fact that I live a 14hr flight away and a have a full-time job and commitments I would be there a lot more often. However, having seen Malaysia, I now have a list of other places I simply HAVE to go: Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, China, Japan and of course India! Hmmm ah well, I have Thailand booked for November and I can't wait!
