A small town once owned by the king of England.
As an important Atlantic Ocean port, La Rochelle used to export salt and wine to England and other places in Europe and North American.
Today, it is a very touristic place.
Opposite to "Course des Dames" and on the other bank of "vieux Port", there is a Nordic district where many businessmen from Nordic countries were living there during the old time.
Buildings in this district are renovated to reflect the Nordic construction style - colorful facades.

The food was ok. Summon (salade) and Duck (main course) are good. Again, I did not try see food, which suppose to be... more travel advice

3 hrs for a dinner !!!!!!!!!!! total time spent on food was just around 30 mins, the rest was for waiting... more travel advice

Oh! Oh! I would like to return.... how nice your pictures are ! Too bad for this La Marine in LR, La Marée was great, though. I agree, I had a nice experience at La Marine in IdeR. Waiting for more :-)
