Max .: The best Wine bar
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Max

This Italian restaurant doesn't look impressive from outside. But it will take you about 20-40 minutes to wait for a table, definitely worth waiting. You won't have to stay outside, get inside and go to the bar. Wine is not cheap, but food prices are below average

Favorite Dish: Salmon with spinach & mashed potatoes- delicious. And.. don't miss the appetizers!

Ovo - CLOSED: Bye Bye OVO

  • Satisfaction:
  • New York City Ovo - CLOSED
  • Newly renovated "Ovo" - no more :(

  • Restaurant Name: "Ovo"

Ovo was a perfect host for many VT meetings since 2002, unofrtunately it no longer exists! There still going to be a restaurant, but not the one so many of us loved so much and never missed an opportunity to enjoy its delicious food. I only hope that the new owner of the place will be able to provide his customers with the great atmosphere and good food, exactly like the previous owner did

Favorite Dish: Gnocchi with Alfredo sauce used to be my favorite dish it Ovo. Even when they took it off the menu, they still were kind enough to prepare the dish at a customer's request.

    L'express: Try the Onion Soup
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: L'Express

L’Express is one of my favorite restaurants, offers large selection of wines and delicious food. They don't take reservations but you won't have to wait too long

Favorite Dish: Grilled Salmon Dijonnaise with cooked spinach, Steaks, Salads and Sea Food are served 24 hours a day. I always start with tasty onion soup and finish with the best Creme Brule in the city.

Yummi Sushi Village: Great Sushi Place
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Yummi Village Sushi

This tiny Japanese restaurant in The Village provides its guests with great service and pleasant atmosphere. Food is delicious!
While choosing a sushi place you should be very careful, all ingredients must be very fresh. Unfortunately, many places in NY are not that clean and trustful. “Yummi Village Sushi” is definitely the right place for sushi dinner.

Favorite Dish: Spider Roll (Soft Shell Crab)

    Angels: Upeer East Side's Italian
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Angels

Angels is an Italian restaurant on Upper East Side which serves huge amount of food in one plate! I'm just warning you that one dish would, probably, be more than enough for three persons. And everything they serve is delicious. Most of the Italian restaurants in this area are known for their good quality and high price. Angels' prices are about average. They also make deliveries in the area and have another little store which is for take out only, it's located just around the corner on 62nd. street.

Favorite Dish: Grilled Salmon with spinach and Seafood pasta in creamy sauce.

This nice restaurant was recommended by David (newyorkerman) as a nice place for a dinner.
We arrived there on the evening of 4th. of July to get some food before we go to watch the fireworks.
The food was pretty good, as a pasta lover I can tell you that it satisfied me. The service was great as well as the desserts. Rachel's is located very close to the Times Square.

Les Sans Culottes East: Like in Paris
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • New York City Les Sans Culottes East
  • Enjoying the Appetizer
  • by Nathalie_B
  • Send Photo to a Friend
  • Restaurant Name: "Les Sans Culottes"

I was invited to this restaurant by my friends in New York City for our last party, before I moved out.
Les Sans Culottes is unique for its appetizers. It is usually one basket fool of vegetables, different kinds of bread, and a rack with assorted smoked meats. All this placed in the middle of table and you have to work hard to feed yourself ;-)
The appetizers and the main courses are all included it the prefixed menu. Les Sans Culottes provides you with a great atmosphere and a very good service. I guess, if I return to New York my welcome back party will be held there!

I suddenly realized that Pig 'n' Whistle is not among my restaurant tips. How come?? We had plenty of VT meetings here, and people liked the place.

It is a very nice Irish bar-restaurant which I highly recommend for meeting friends for a lovely evening.

Oh yes! Busy times - will continue to be till 23 August at least. But its all going very well so far so we're happy. And I keep thinking of the extra money for my holiday Stateside in October! Gillybob greetings

Though not a big fan of big cities, I must admit New York City does have a lot to offer and I can see why you loved it there. You had a lot of little VT meets there too.
