My first time in Arad was in 2003. I know I should be ashamed of myself. However, since then I visited this city quite a lot, because Martin_S. serves great BBQ!!!
Besides visiting Sampsons' residence there are actually many things that one can enjoy. Arad is situated in the middle of a desert and many hiking paths are available, Tel Arad archeological site is just 10 minutes away, the Dead Sea is only 25 minutes drive and the Dead Sea area offers many activities as well. For the party animals the famous Muza bar is offering great food and selection of beers.
In other words it's a great place to visit from time to time.
