Nightlife Spot: Shalvata
First the name of this bar on the beach makes it so attractive (or not). "Shalvata" is a name of a mental institution in Israel, the name derives from Hebrew word "Shalva" which means tranquility. This bar definitely gives you a sense of tranquility. While drinking a beer or anything else you listen to the waves that hit the sea beach, which is located right infront of the bar. Any kind of drinks can be found there. Food is a little bit problem. I had their fried calamari which was very good, but not so cheap either (non kosher food is expensive in Israel). You can aways have a salad or fries, goes great with beer ;-)

Nightlife Spot: Tarabin
Between Tel Aviv and Old Jaffa, right in the middle, on the beach you can find this very place where you can have a beer, some food, smoke nargila and listen to the waves.
My favorite dish at Tarabin is "malawach" don't ask me to translate it to English, 'cause it's impossible. Basically it's a fried dough which is served with mashed tomatoes, and it goes perfect with beer. It originally belongs to a Yemenite cuisine, but for us it became a typical Israeli dish long long time ago.*

Nightlife Spot: Molly Blooms
There are quite a few Irish bars in Tel Aviv area, but not all of them offer Molly Bloom's atmosphere. From my very first visit it became my favorite bar. First, because it's not noisy and it's possible to talk to your friends while enjoying beer and good and not loud music. Happy hour lasts till 8pm, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday live music is played, the bar is open till the last customer is done drinking and St. Paddy's day is celebrated wildly. If you're hungry there's plenty of food on the Molly's menu. My beer usually goes with either fries or mushrooms fried in garlic.
And if you're sports fan there are plenty of TV screens to entertain you.
And here's another piece of useless info - this bar was brought from Ireland the way it looks now. Last month (December 2006) it celebrated its 6th B-Day - not many bars last that long in Tel Aviv!
