This is the coldest place I have ever been. With a hotel that ranged from boiling to freezing, very few bars with any sort of nightlife, and a very serious local people, my 2 days in Latvia were not the best.
Of course, there is probably a million and one good things about Latvia, I only saw 1 city on 1 occasion.
But other than the beer, not much to cheers about when Estonia is so close and so much better
- Pros:Erm, struggling here
- Cons:Cold, Grey, Boring
- In a nutshell:Give up and get the bus to Tallinn instead

In winter, brave the minus 20 temps to cross the huge river on foot. Don't be scared, the ice is over a metre thick. more travel advice
