I had been to the Luxor in Las Vegas before, and that was hot. This was very hot!!! With the usual 'deli-belly' setting in, my stay here was far from comfortable.
That does not mean that I did not enjoy it here. Smaller than Cairo, you have more opportunity to meet with local people.
The Nile area has more of a Costa Del Sol feel as the streets of cheap hotels are filled with bargain hunting Brits.
Karnak, The Nile, and Valley of the Kings are all worth a look.
Luxor is the logical stop off point on your way from Cairo to Hurghada/Sharm.
