Prey Nokor was the original name of Ho Chi Minh City, more commonly known as Saigon.
Was here 29 April to 1 May 2006.
Here's the itenary:
Day 01 - Ho Chi Minh City (Arrival) Arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport, meet & greet by tour guide and transfer to the Hotel. After resting for a while, went to Ben Thanh Market for shopping. Dinner at Amara Hotel. Cost of dinner US$32 (internatioanal buffet for two).
Day 02 - Ho Chi Minh: Half Day City Tour (B) After breakfast, transfer to Notre Dame Cathedral, which is situated in Paris Square, in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. A French priest laid the first brick in October 1877 and the last one is in April 1880. Arrangements made with France required the construction to be managed by a French engineer by the name of Baurad. The total cost was 2.5 million francs. With the approval of the Vatican, the cathedral was named Notre Dame during ceremonies held in December 1959. Near by the church in Central Post Office this is a French-style building with its glass canopy and iron frame right next to the Notre Dame Cathedral. The structure was built between 1886 and 1891 and is by far the largest post office in Vietnam. Next visit to the City Hall* completed 1908, also known as "Hotel de Ville" at the northern end of Nguyen Hue Boulevard. With its ornate gingerbread facade it looks like the town hall of a French town (view from outside only). Did not visit to Lacquer Ware Factory expert in Art and Craft of picture, furniture with Lacquer. Thien Hau Temple the oldest temple was built by the early period's Chinese, follow by China Town, which is situated in District 5. It is a hive of activity and offers visitors a strong sense of Chinese culture.
Then followed by tour of Cu Chi Tunnel. Did not go for the optional river cruise dinner, instead had dinner at Ali Baba cafe which is near Parkson Department Store.
Day 03 - Ho Chi Minh (Departure) (B) Last minute shopping at Ben Thanh market. Tan Son Nhat airport for flight back |
