Slocan Lake
One of the deepest lakes in the province, nearly 1000 feet, its pristine waters feed the Kootenay River.
Forestry and logging
Chief industry in the Slocan Valley is logging and sawmilling. Log booms are strung across the lake's outllet to prevent timber from being carried downstream.

Chief species logged include Douglas Fir, Cedar and pine
