The world's largest pysanka

This monument was erected in Vegreville to commemorate the 100 Anniversary of the RCMP in 1975. On the same scale, a chicken would be over 300' high!!

Dancers come from across North America to compete in the Pysanka Festival.

Thes dancers come from various dance ensembles throughout Western Canada in cluding the Shumka, Cheremosh, Parkland Ukrainian Dancers, They have to go through as many as 6 or more costume changes as well.

All I remember about our last family trip through Vegreville was dying of the heat in a motel 'cause my dad wouldn't turn on the AC. Said it was too noisy. He also said my brother and I were too noisy. You just can't please some people. *sigh*
