Dawson Falls, Wells Gray Park

The Myrtle River has no less than 4 major falls in its course from Myrtle Lake. This is Dawson Falls, about 70 feet high and 300' wide. Further downstream the river flows through the Devil's Punchbowl or Mushbowl, and eventually plunges over the 475' precipice into the lava canyon at Helmcken Falls, one of the most spectacular and fourth highest in Canada.

Clearwater Valley

This is the upper Clearwater River where it leaves Clearwater Lake. Be very careful when launching boats in this area of the lake and observe all warning signs! Failing to do so would mean being drowned after being swept over the small falls shown here!

Great pictures. My uncle used to love to go Wells Gray Park - so you have given me some lovely visuals to go with the mental pictures I'd created from his descriptions.
