Paris is a big city and sometimes you should be carreful at night. If you're alone, you should preferably walk fast if you get around Chatelêt Les Halles or Bastille. The Railroad stations (Gare du Nord, Gare de l'Est, Gare de Lyon, Austerlitz...) are also not that safe. Be carreful on the Champs Elysées too if it's getting too late. In the parisien metro, we have parisien pickpockets... So watch out your cellular phones, purses or camera !

Be carreful to take an official taxi at the airport : if men come to you at the landing proposing you a taxi, say NO. You don't know how much you will pay (surely too much) and where they will get you ! True taxis are waiting outside the airport, queuing for passengers (or the contrary), where indicated.

Don't buy any metro tickets to people selling them in the public areas of the metro. They are illegal retailers. Just buy them to the official RATP or SNCF ticket sellers or you may have to pay an amend.
