I found good deal for flights or what do you say...€0,02 return plus airport taxes €25! What else could I do but book the flights and spend a long weekend in the capital of Latvia! I had heard a lot of positive things about Riga and in my mind I had a picture of a city very much like Tallinn. Well, I was wrong. Tallinn is Tallinn and Riga is Riga. No need to compare them - both have their own unique attraction. I can recommend Riga to you. Go before it changes too western.
- Pros:Full of history, friendly people
- Cons:Not many speak English, more expensive than you would think

Enjoyed your Riga page Sini! It brought back some nice memories of my visit to Riga last December. I was hoping for snow like you had, but only got a drizzle of rain. I did have a great time here though! Hahaha, the rat warning sign is so funny! :-))))
Belated thanks for the comments on my Palmyra pages. I find your visit to Riga quite interesting as I know so little about the Baltic state nations.
Too bad the weather was so bad, but nevertheless you have seen a lot and made the most out of your stay! We booked Riga for September and we are very much looking forward to it!

anywhere in riga to airport should not be more than 10-12 lats. anymore and you are being taken for a ride

Enjoyed this Riga page. What a charming place with its churches & castle. But it looks so coooold. I was intrigued with the wooden dolls. Riga appears to be quite reasonable price-wise. xxx Lori.
