APRIL 29, 2001. The one hour drive from our holiday home to Nimes was quite nice. We discovered a road that basically made a "tree tunnel", watch out for those trees! The countryside was nice, but the weather wasn't cooperating. The dark clouds were settling in and I was just hoping it wouldn't end up raining. Well, it did for about 30 minutes, not too bad, but it was also windy and on the cool side. The colisseum/arena was a good sight, being larger than I had expected. We found an outdoor restaurant close to the arena and tried to eat some traditional provencal food, it was good. The stroll around wasn't so exciting. We visited on a Sunday and therefore many of the shops were closed which was a disappointment. I did like the structure pictured here.
