A month before this trip when i was about to travel independently with a few friends, i searched for hotel around Petra but never heard about this hotel, only about the bigger ones and better known ones (movenpick, Taybat Zaman, Golden Tulip etc'..). Only when i joined this trip a month later which was kind of organaized i asked where will we be staying and heard that name. Googled this name i couldn't find much info so thats actually why its the first tip im writing on this page (not sure when i'll write more) hopping it will help to others. The Amra hotel is a relatively Small hotel, Located in Wadi Musa, 5 minutes (Really) drive from Petra Site. Its not one of the posh hotels (like the Muvenpick or the Golden Tulip), Its basically very simple and very basic designed though pretty comfortable. The Single rooms are small, personally i didn't have any interesting view from my room... just a window watching the building near by. The Single room contained two single beds, Small bathroom, TV, hair driere, closet and i think thats about it, pretty basic room. Night time was very cold so i tried to switch on the heating but it didnt work, just cooled the room ! I didnt feel like calling the reception and start this whole tiring thing since i was way too tired, so i just grabed the blankets that were on the second bed and that definitely warmed me. However, if you come on winter time i might want to check this detail before and make sure it works cause trust me, IT IS COLD there, actually not only on winter time, after all i was there on Aprl 8th and it was still cold, we didnt even expect that weather so some of us including my smart self didnt even have jackets !.
Unique Qualities: ** Continue ** However, From a spoilt girl point of view i can tell you that If you'll be visiting there for one night like i did, this hotel should be absolutely enough for you. We arrived back from our day at the desert at around 6 - 7pm (and left the morning after at 9am) and we were sooooo tired we didnt care much about anything.... just needed shower food and sleep. The only thing i decided to do was to spoile my self a bit by going to the Khamam and enjoy one good treat. But thats a story for another tip. If i would have come to enjoy there for a few days i'd definitely book a better hotel and enjoy a much more comfy rooms and other facilities that those hotels offer, but at this case i had no time anyway so as i mentioned before, it was quite good as is.
Another thing, the hotel Stuff was really polite and kind and made us feel very welcome. Food at dinner and morning was okay, nothing spectacular though not bad. I know some of the people in my trip slept in another hotel (was fully booked when i booked my trip at the last moment) and enjoyed a great breakfast... but okay thats not such a big deal at this case so i think this hotel was really okay if you need a one night sLEEP than its absolutely okay. Have a great trip :-)
