...And has no meaning...

The plane landed... i was there.. finally, so many years i wanted to visit there, and its so close just 1.5hrs from Tel aviv.. and somehow it was always postponed.
I took my hand bag and got ready to leave the plane, I switched my mobile on... lets see whats waiting for me there... few SMS's.. one of them was a warm welcome message that started with the words "Welcome to the Land of Gods......"
Yes... This is the Land of gods ....

It was a different vacation... well maybe not That different.. just a bit different from my last city breaks vacations, I needed an escape urgently, and this opportunity just came across my eyes... i took it and decided to go.
One thing was sure, this was going to be an easy one, although its not a trip to some Island but to a city i was going to take it very very slow and easy. Not in a rush to anything or anywhere, i don't have to make it anywhere, i will see whatever i'll feel like, if at all, Athens won't run away and i'll be there again...
I was spending lots of time enjoying drinks / coffee / food in so many cafe's letting time pass, sometimes reading, sometimes talking to people and sometimes just enjoying the Views and the people around... I Simply couldn't make it better.

A great advantage was the time of the year when i was there, end of February beginning of March. The off season, hardly any tourists around, and this fact has changed the whole picture, it was just great !!!

One of the nice experiences at this trip was meeting Eirini (VT member Irine_29) after a long time of mailing, Thanks Eirini for your welcoming & hospitality. Or better say Efharisto Poly :-)

Pros and Cons

Pros:The people, history, atmosphere, it just felt so comfortable
Cons:Traffic, the waitresses & taxi drivers :-)
In a nutshell:I wish i could escape there once in a while...

The view from Likavitos is superb too, and there is probably less people there :-) but the Acropolis is of course, the Acropolis!!!

Yes, just relaxing and enjoying all of Athens from the Acropolis is an unbelievably wonderful experience. I am glad that you took the opportunity to do that but sorry that you do not seem to be doing it much anymore. Shalom!!
