Or the wailing wall or in Hebrew - The Kotel. This place is The Holliest Place for the Jewish people. You can see people praying and writing their biggest wishes on a small notes which they put in between ths tones...hoping for answers to their prayers. That has become a tradition for those who believe in that and also for those who not... i guess everyone hopes for a miracles.....

Another one of Jerusalem's landmarks. One of the nicest things to do in Jerusalem is to take walk in David Tower's walls at night, its fantastic, Just check the opening hours. The citadel is located near Jaffa gate and near the Police statoin of the old city. And if you're looking for a hostel to stay in then check the Petra hostel which just accross the road to the citadel and its amazing to sit at your balcony and watch it !!

This Church was built by an Italian Architect in the first quarter of the 19th century. Which also known as "The Basilica of the Agony" . The reason for the name "Chuch of all nations" is that many countries has contributed to help with the building of it. The Church is one of the important churches to Christianity and its quite nice while looking at it from outside though not as impressive as other churches i've seen. It is located at Gethsemane right at the foot of Mount of Olives.

This church which kown as the "Russian Church" was built by Alexander III of Russia. The Church of St. Mary Magdalene is one of the most conspicuous sanctuary in the Holy City, The seven golden domes were regilded just in time for the Jubilee year - 2000. Its location is just near the mount of olives and above Kidron Valley and it really is impressive... at least from a distance, i wasn't inside this church so i can only speak about my impression from its outside. (little tip.... its even much nicer to look at at the afternoon hours / sunset time hours )

This is where St. John's mother Elizabeth met Virgin Mary who arrived from Nazareth and thats also the place where Mary said the Magnificat, "My soul doth magnify the Lord..." In the yard of the church you can see the magnificat in 42 languages. (i will add a photos of it later on) This is one of the most beautiful churches that i've seen in Israel, all of its garden and outside area is so peaceful and beautiful. Stepping out of its gate there's an amazing view of all the valley and Ein Kerem. I think that if i would have travelled there alone i'd have stayed there for a longer time just for the relaxing atmosphere and view.

According to the tradition Virgin Mary fell into eternal sleep on Mount Zion at this site. A Franciscans built a chapel over that site in the 14th century and It was erected in 1910 by the Emperor Wilhelm the II. It definitely has a look of a medieval fortress...

Well...I dont think one can skip that one... If you want or not while in the old city you'll be going through that market, (unless if you'll totally skip the Via dolorosa and everything thats connected to it) its a nice experience and sometimes pretty amusing. Remember that when buying stuff at that market haggling is part of the culture... Dont be shy... if they wont reduce the price you can just say thanks and goodbye... and before you'll turn your back to get out of the shop they will call you back and will give you a better price.
