For all you budget travelers here's a website that would give you all the information you need about the Youth hostelas in Jerusalem (and in other parts of Israel as well)
I can't recommend pesonaly as i haven't been staying in any of them nor seen them in my eyes.

This Small guest house is runned by German managment and located at the old city just about 5 min' walk from Jaffa gate... which means that when staying there you can really feel the atmosphere of the old city and that can be quite an experience !

The prices in the High season is bout 90 $ and in the low season just a bit less then that.
And as far as i know credit cards are not accepted.

I cant add here any personal opinion cause i haven't stayed there only know a friend who have stayed there and was quite happy with it.

Pretty famouse hostel for backpackers or none backpackers.
Its Location is Great, just in the exit from the old Market and near a few meters walk from the Citadel. Absolutely fantastic Location.

As about service or prices i cant help, i haven't stayed there but been there on March 2005 and went to their roof to take some photos of the old city. Fantastic.

I've seen some of its guests sitting in the balcony of their rooms enjoying the atmosphere of the old city, to be honest it looked really nice and tempting.

The kind David hotel in Jerusalem, although may not be impressing from its outside is a very posh hotel and known as one of the best in Israel if not the best.
When Presidents, prime ministers kings and other people in such level arrives thats where they stay.
So i guess that most VT'ers will find this tip not so helpful but then again who knows.... mybe you've just got a spoiling vacation from your granny and you're searching for a GREAT hotel in VT... :-)

This place is definitely one of the most beautiful and relaxing places i've seen in Jerusalem and Israel.
This monastery is located in En Kerem Neighborhood and sits on a hill which is watching the valley and the forests around.
Only part of this onastery is used as a hotel or maybe more right to say B & B.
I have npt stayed there nor seen the rooms but i managed to get into the hoel till i was asked if i was a guest and when i said no i was politly asked to leave.
However i have no doubt about one thing, im going to Stay at this monastery for a weekend ... Its way too beautiful and romantic to miss such experience.

Getting there: you can take Bus number 17 \from Jaffa street and get of it at the center of En Kerem. From there its not long, just ask the people around.
