Plaza Mayor is my most favourite spot in Madrid, And its not difficult to see why. Always bustling even at midnight, it's a good way to see Madrileños enjoy themselves. There are lots of cafes around the huge plaza. But things are no doubt more expensive there. A good idea would be to bring along a picnic and just sit yourselves in the centre. Day or night, you would love the atmosphere at Plaza Mayor!
