Plaza Mayor

Madrid, the capital of Spain, certainly has its charms. Lots of history, culture and beauty in one place. But don't just stay in Madrid, go to the nearby towns as well, all easily accessible from Madrid. I took 3 daytrips out into Segovia, El Escorial and Toledo and loved it! :)

My first night in Madrid and I found my favourite spot! Plaza Mayor! The atmosphere here is absolutely amazing. It's always bustling, day and night alike. Madrileños gather here for a drink or just to relax. Tourists like me just wanna soak in the atmosphere.

On some nights, there are buskers performing. With the sky and stars above you, soft music playing and a cool breeze, what more can you ask for?

Moon in Madrid

Looking at the moon made me think of home...hmm do I miss being away from home? Yes I think so... :(

Jardines Sabatini

This garden is very near the Palacio Real. It is very pretty with all the neatly-cut grass :) This is also a good vantage point for those who love the sunsets, like sunset_gal lol.

Pros and Cons

Pros:A bustling city which has everything within close proximity. Its central location makes it a good place to take daytrips out into the region.
Cons:Too much to see if you have very little time.
In a nutshell:There is a reason why it's the capital of Spain!
