Gränna was founded by Count Per Brahe (the Younger) in 1652. A nice place for tourists to explore, Gränna sees about 500,000 tourists every year. It has many quaint little shops - art and craft, cafés, and of course the famous polkagrisar - peppermint rock sticks!!
Gränna is also well-known for something else: hot air ballooning. The centre for this activity in Scandinavia lies right here in this town.
This is not a very big town, but it has alot to see. After walking around the town and exploring the shops, you can take a ferry to nearby Visingsö. The ferry takes cars as well. Look under my tips on how to get to Visingsö! |
