Bergama is a little town 40 km away form Sarimsalki, there are tourist buses that can take you there. Why should you go? If you have dark shades on your glasses and it is noon and 40C temperature , and you try to take of your clothes and dark shades fall off and some kid finds them and break them in 3 peaces AND YOU STILL HAVENT PAYED FOR THE GLASSES!!!! That is why I went , well I didnt know that when I decided to go. Anyway, seriously now, the town is small and full of little shops selling carpets (cilims), silver and onyx. On the hill beside the town there is ancient Persian, Greek, Roman, Turkish town called Pergamon. More about that you can find on my Bergama page.

Island Cunda is not actually and island LOL It is connected to the mainland with a bridge. It is a little (not)island with a port and lot of fish restaurants. What I liked there is how they arrange the fresh fish in the refrigerators. The fish look like a painting... Anyway I like Cunda very much, and it is easy to get there by local bus or boat.

There is an orthodox church in Cunda. It was ruined in some earthquake and it is forbiden to enter cause it is dangerous. I took some pics of the inside from the window. You'll see some white things on the bars on pics...I saw that on other places in Turkey western coast, you make a wish and tie that white cloth or paper and your wish will come true... I guess LOL ...or not...
