Athens... What to write about this monument of history, a modern city which makes its inhabitants usually to complain, but to love it deeply at the same time (even if sometimes they don't feel it so strongly...). Homelands are painted mainly in our hearts. Athena stands and observes her descendants continuing the 2.500 years old history of this glorious city... |
An alive style of life... Athens is a big city with about 3,5 million inhabitants, enough of them are foreigners. Together with the greek spirit (which includes deep faith in ideals, enthusiasm, sarcasm, bent for having a good time and enjoyment of life), it has been created an interesting mixture of cultures and customs. That fact offers a dynamic and also alive character to the city. Nightlife of Athens is rightly famous... |
| The closing ceremony of the Olympic Games (29/8) |
The Olympic Games in 2004 This very important event was the reason that has made Athens to look totally different than the previous years. Athenians celebrated with all the world between 13-29 August 2004 (the Paralympic Games were one month later, between 17-28 September), probably the Olympic Games -back to their birthplace- found again a little from their ancient spirit... It was an amazing period which will never be forgotten! |
