It is located in the heart of central Greece and it is surrounded by high mountains. Even at the end of March, the prefecture is full of snow, it has rightly been characterized as "Switzerland of Greece".

That road to Karpenissi just seems to go on forever. We loved this region of Greece when we travelled from western to eastern Greece. Amazing scenery.

Is it Alaska, Andrea? :-) I was really surprised to see so much snow in Greece, I was a bit tired from it in my country, but anyway the landscapes are so wonderful, efharisto poli for showing me this part of Greece...I still remember that snow :-)
